Hands-On Learning: Students Experience Shallot Cultivation at Pujun Kidol (SDG 4, 8 & 12)

265

As part of their experiential learning activities, students visited Pujun Kidol to gain hands-on exposure to shallot (bawang) cultivation. During the trip, participants were provided with a detailed explanation of planting techniques, including soil preparation, seed selection, and growth management.

Students were then given the opportunity to actively plant shallots themselves, experiencing the full planting process from start to finish. This practical session allowed students to appreciate agricultural practices, understand the effort involved in food production, and develop a connection with local farming communities.

The activity fostered experiential learning, agricultural literacy, and cross-cultural understanding, aligning with SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
