Fire Drill and Safety Briefing by CPR, ISDEV and GSB

12 November 2025 – The Centre for Policy Research (CPR), the Centre for Islamic Development Management Studies (ISDEV), and the Graduate School of Business (GSB), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), participated in a Fire Drill and Safety Briefing involving a total of 60 staff members and students from the three departments.
The activity aimed to enhance campus members’ awareness and preparedness regarding safety measures and emergency response procedures in the event of a fire incident.
The fire safety briefing was delivered by representatives from the Occupational Safety and Health Committee (JKKP) USM, while the campus safety briefing was conducted by representatives from the USM Security Department. Participants were also given hands-on exposure to building evacuation procedures, the use of fire extinguishers, and methods for handling situations involving snakes within the campus area.
This activity is hoped to strengthen the culture of safety and foster a shared sense of responsibility in ensuring a safe, harmonious, and conducive working and learning environment at USM.
