CAINA Project Meeting with Department of Fisheries Malaysia (DOF) & Fisheries Research Institute (2 Jul 2025; FRI Batu Maung, Penang)

The Climate-Adaptive, Inclusive, Nature-based Aquaculture (CAINA) Project Meeting was held on 2 July 2025 at the Fisheries Research Institute (FRI) Batu Maung, Penang, with participation from the Department of Fisheries Malaysia (DOF) and FRI. The session served as an introduction of the project, led by the WorldFish Center, and explored opportunities for future collaboration in research, policy, and capacity building. Dr. Illisriyani Ismail (CPR, USM) attended as the leader for Work Package 5: Policy & Governance, highlighting the importance of aligning project outcomes with national strategies. The meeting reaffirmed CAINA’s contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly #SDG2 (Zero Hunger), #SDG13 (Climate Action), and #SDG14 (Life Below Water), through its focus on resilient and inclusive aquaculture development.
