Advancing Policy and Scaling Strategies for Nature-Based Aquaculture: CPR–WorldFish–UKM Meeting

27 Nov 2024: A productive research meeting was held at CPR with the International Center for Living Aquatic Resources Management (ICLARM), also known as WorldFish and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), to discuss Work Package 5 (WP5): Policy and Scaling Readiness Analysis for Nature-Based Aquaculture (NBA) in Malaysia and the Solomon Islands. This project, supported by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Canada, aims to advance climate-adaptive, inclusive, and nature-based aquaculture practices in both regions.

Attendees included Edward Allison (Project Leader/Researcher), Teoh Shwu Jiau (Project Manager), Marleen Schutter (Researcher), Surendran Rajaratnam (Project Leader/Researcher - Gender Equity), Tina (PhD Student - Gender Equity), and Illis Ismail (Project Leader WP5/Researcher).

The discussion centred on policy development and strategies for scaling NBA practices to support sustainable aquaculture initiatives and community resilience.
