6th USM–HCU Student Exchange Program

Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), through the Centre for Policy Research (CPR), in collaboration with Hiroshima City University (HCU), organised the 6th USM–HCU Student Exchange Program, involving 20 USM students (Undergraduate and Master’s levels) accompanied by two staff members. The delegation departed for Hiroshima, Japan, for the programme held from 18 to 27 August 2023.

CPR has been entrusted by HCU to continue the implementation of this programme, which is a continuation of the previous five series conducted under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in 2015.

The programme was led by Dr. Sazlina Md Salleh, Deputy Director of CPR, who also served as the Programme Coordinator, with assistance from Ms. Rosliza Musa, Senior Assistant Registrar.

The specific objectives of this programme were to further strengthen the platform for the exchange of ideas and perspectives among participants, as well as to assess, evaluate, and enhance bilateral cooperation between USM and HCU through student exchange activities.

The participating students were selected through an interview process and represented three USM campuses—the Main Campus, Transkrian Campus, and Health Campus. One participant received full sponsorship under the B40 category through the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni Development), USM.
