Maritime Nusantara & Sustainability Policy Initiative Trip, Surabaya, Indonesia

On 5 August 2025, participants of the Maritime Nusantara & Sustainability Policy Initiative – Centre Policy Research Trip departed for Surabaya, Indonesia to commence their academic field experience. Upon arrival at Universitas Negeri Malang, participants attended a structured briefing session introducing the programme objectives.

During the session, students were organised into working pairs, assigned roles including documentation and reporting, and a student leader was appointed to coordinate group activities throughout the week.

This initial engagement established the foundation for the trip, highlighting active participation and reflective learning. The programme also reinforced the principles of SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering collaboration, responsibility, and academic preparedness in an international context.
