Malaysian Partners Meeting on Research Project on Climate-Adaptive, Inclusive, Nature-based Aquaculture (CAINA) in Malaysia and Solomon Islands (CAINA) (9 - 10 Oct 2025; Ascott Hotel Gurney, Penang)
The Malaysian Partners Meeting for the Climate-Adaptive, Inclusive, Nature-based Aquaculture (CAINA) project, led by the WorldFish Center, was held on 9–10 October 2025 at Ascott Hotel Gurney, Penang, to review progress and strengthen collaboration with Solomon Islands partners. Dr. Illisriyani Ismail, as the lead for Work Package 5: Policy & Governance, highlighted the importance of embedding project findings into national aquaculture strategies and governance frameworks. The meeting showcased progress in climate-adaptive practices, inclusive community participation, and nature-based solutions that support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly #SDG2 (Zero Hunger), #SDG13 (Climate Action), and #SDG14 (Life Below Water). Stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to integrating CAINA findings into policy and practice, ensuring resilience and sustainability in Malaysia’s aquaculture sector.
