International Writing Workshop (IWW) 2025 – Empowering Malaysian Social Scientists

244

From 3 to 6 September 2025, the International Writing Workshop (IWW) programme, funded by the British Academy (UK), was held at the EDC Hotel & Resort in Kedah. The programme brought together passionate young Malaysian social scientists for an inspiring week of growth and collaboration under the consultancy project “Empowering Future Generations of Malaysian Social Scientists: Writing Skills and Research Design Capacity for Early-Career Researchers.”

Assoc. Prof. Dr Tang Chor Foon, from the Centre for Policy Research (CPR), Universiti Sains Malaysia, was invited to serve as a trainer and mentor, working alongside esteemed colleagues from the University of Central Lancashire (UK), the University of Hertfordshire (UK), and Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). Together, they guided and supported early-career Malaysian lecturers from various public universities, helping them strengthen their research and academic writing skills through the IWW sessions and a mentor–mentee programme that will continue from 2025 to 2027.
